PRESS STATEMENT
In pursuance of the tripartite meeting between His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani the Emir of the State of Qatar and President Bashar Al-Asad President of the Syrian Arab Republic and H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan Prime Minister of Turkey, it was agreed to send H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabor Al-Thani Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and H. E. Mr. Ahmet Davutoglu to Beirut to continue the efforts with all Lebanese parties on the basis of the Saudi-Syrian paper. Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al-Thani and Mr. Ahmet Davutoglu stated that through their efforts a paper was drafted which took into consideration the political and legal requirements for solving the present crisis in Lebanon on the basis of the Saudi-Syrian paper. However, due to certain reservations, they have decided to cease their efforts in Lebanon at present and to leave Beirut in order to consult with their Governments
